International Women's Day

“To strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them” is an incredible start. But today is a good day to address that recognizing the strength in yourself and those around you is just the first step. We need to fight for all women, not just the ones in our own communities.
White feminism has been at the forefront of the women’s movement for most of its history and women of color, trans women, and so many others have been put on the back burner. The pay gap is so important to address but we run into issues if this is placed at a higher priority than women in developing countries facing femicide, healthcare for trans women and poor women, and the issues disproportionately affecting women of color.
We have made an incredible amount of progress and there are so many strong women kicking ass all around the world as we speak, but we have so much further to go especially for marginalized communities.
